AMSTERDAM

AMSTERDAM

Im on the long train back to Berlin. With a heart filled of excitement and warmth. Tired and saw. I arrived to the pretty city of Amsterdam on Tuesday and had the pleasure of staying at Vrankrijk, the collective house and venue in the centre of the city. Id been given the band room for three nights and the stage on Wednesday night for their weekly WTF QUEER Wednesdays. I spend the days walking around the city with no specifics, a record shop here, a spell shop there, a suggested restaurant. The show on Wednesday is a big success with mosh pits. Ive brought my groovebox over to test a solo performance with it along with backing tracks from both Bumholes & Punx. I get over my backing track hump at this show as I get to give my all as the backing track plays. The groovebox was fitting for a slow dance in the middle of the set. But im happy to arrive with a USB in future. Post show I drink with those who helped the show and audience. We go over the road to The Minds, famous for the place where you’ll see people getting kicked out. Right enough, soon after taking first sip on a pint. The bartenders throwing someone out, the music stops and people turn around as his escorted out the door with screaming Dutch following him. I dance, smile and chat as the punk music cracks out the speakers. The place is alive and shuts its doors at 3/4 in the morning, with the place full. They play Cumbia music to calm the people down before kicking the busy place onto the street. I sleep well, wake early with my saw body from jumping around on stage. I walk the city again, first stop Ruben‘s Kollektiv Kitchen, a great place that needs a reservation 15€ for three course vegan meal. Lovely food, Lovely setting. I then Walk through town to Red Light District Radio where Aram has invited me on to their weekly queer radio talk show. We talk. At the end I sing RELEASE (your homosexual potential) live on the station. I mess up some verse‘s but cement a week of promoting this song! Still not tired of it. I feel its the Summer hit of 2026! After the radio, I get into make up and perform it at Club Church. The legendary club, and the legendary night Blue. Free entry in drag or naked. Their mix gendered queer night. The clubs very well equipped and perfect size. Downstairs a spacious darkroom, showers, dick sink, douche toilets. Ground floor high ceilings, bar, stage, DJ and pole. With a balcony that also features a really dark maze. For the no light lovers. Taka Taka and the house of hopeless have been doing every Thursday night for 12 years! Honour to be there. The audience respond very well to the song and performance! Afterwards get to fool around in the dark. Before walking back in the Amsterdam rain. Friday I don’t have a show, but move to my hotel room slightly out of town. Where I drop off, get on a bike and arrive at Club Raum where the HOLOBIONT have been rehearsing for their Holland Festival show. The reason im in the city. A 5 hour immersive non-stop gender rave ritual. Fun mix of drag, music and shows. Very playful. Many outfits and personas changing. I feel very at home and welcome. I sneak off as the rehearsal runs late to cycle to town for food at vegan Caribbean Japanese spot. Before visiting the gay sauna in the center of town. Very chic well designed space. I warm up in the sauna, watching the men shower through the glass. After few hours alone, I meet a sweetheart and we have a lot fun. Saturday I wake to the hotel breakfast, and a day in Club Raum. My sound and light tech goes quick and smooth - then the show pretty much starts. I join in with a balaclava on my head and dancing around. My number is late in the 5 hour stretch so had a good build up to it. I rip off and get a great response once again. It’s a summer hit! RELEASE (Your homosexual potential) Another warm reception from the team and organisers, I feel very privileged and happy. Filled with gratitude. My taxi is ordered and I sleep well. Another hotel breakfast, I am now travelling home. To a week filled with excitement! Tomorrow we record the vocals to the PUNX N KWEENZ, EP! Then I rehearse with The Bumholes, Wednesday night is Gay Propaganda X Sissy Smut, showing the Do You Need A Hand? music video! Then I play a B2B with Bruce LaBruce at Möbel Olfe. The day afterwards, the Bumholes perform for Bruce at a snap gig at Studio 1111. With our, The Revoution is my Lover. Before a weekend of more! Ziber is Friday night. Then its all prep in for Fete De La EXIT! Full day of bands at EXIT. It a rollercoaster and I love it!
